Skiwelt - Austria's largest inter-connected ski arena

SkiWelt Piste Map

Skiwelt is Austria's largest inter-connected ski arena. In 1962 the first ski lift in Scheffau was built and from that humble beginning Scheffau is now at the heart of Austria's largest inter-connected ski arena with 91 lifts on one ski pass covering 279 km of piste and with over 70 mountain huts/restaurants/bars to refresh and relax you.

Skiwelt has has won many awards over the last few years including two Ski area Oscars, the ADAC Skipreis index for best value, Best ski resort (out of 400 world wide) and has added value by the continual renewing and updating of lifts right across the 7 villages which this lift pass covers.

Skiwelt lift passes can be purchased from anything from a few hours to as long as you'd like to stay and use all lifts in the area without the fear of skiing into another area and having to purchase another pass to get back from where you came. Each lift pass is credit card size and recyclable so you can either keep your card or get your €2 deposit back at the end of your holiday. Each card has an identity number so you can also check your skiing details - distance, height difference, lift difference - on the Skiwelt website to see just how far you've been.

SkiWelt - Ski World in English - covers the villages of Brixen, Ellmau, Soll, Going, Scheffau, Itter, Hopfgarten, Westendorf and Kelchsau and including both the Wilden Kaiser and Brixental valleys. Go up to the top, using one of the two gondolas available in Scheffau and simply decide in which direction you're going to travel. Circular routes, marked clearly on the piste map, show you how to get back to Scheffau top station and enjoy the final run of the day - the thrilling run back to the valley station (approximately 7KM) and the various end of day apres-ski bars either just before the end of the piste or down in the parking area.

Parking is free for users of the lifts although with our holiday apartments just 3 minutes walk from the main gondolas you may prefer just to walk back home.
